For context, as this is only a killer and not a location, I’ve played through all lore book scenarios for The Birds along with one additional game to learn the mechanics. For thoughts on the lore book and my overall killer, location, and box rankings, scroll to the bottom.

1) SO. MANY. BIRDS!!!! It’s honestly ridiculous. And I don’t like birds.

2) I really enjoyed the scenarios for The Birds as they are fun to experiment with in different locations. The one on Maple Lane is ridiculously challenging though (in my opinion).

3) Typically, the player has to rescue a bunch of victims before the birds take over. If there are ever three or more birds on each spot on the map, the player loses. It’s also possible to lose health and things as usual. The trick here is how quickly they multiply, hence point #1. They can attack and be harsh, but the fact that they start everywhere on the map where a meeple is not means they spread and spread quickly.

4) Because the killer is solely the bird tokens, it can get a little fiddly and some spots can get crammed if there are birds, meeples, etc. on one space.

Thoughts on lore book: 9.5/10. Each killer and final girl has a great story, and the scenarios are very creative. There are lots of combinations to try providing a lot of replayability and the chance to purposely experiment with certain pairs of locations and killers. There are a few small, annoying errors, though, which is why I can’t give it a 10 (things like typos, slightly incorrect/not matching card names, etc.).
