First of all, I was not expecting to enjoy this game as much as I do. Also, my first few plays were underwhelming, but after I got more games in, the strategy and fun really started to reveal itself! Every set (Catalysts of Change, Sparks of Hope, Engines of Progress) has three different factions, each with different abilities. Creating unique combinations across the sets is super fun; there seems to be near endless replayability just based on the number of possible combinations of factions and the randomization of the cards each game.

The solo expansion, Aspects of Vision, again, was not my favorite initially, but it’s grown on me. There is a faction or two in this first season that didn’t work well for me solo, but those could easily just not be played with, or you could work to find factions that complement those well. In comparison to season two, these solo cards are different and have unique abilities and goals which seem to be overall easier to achieve but less useful in comparison to season two.

One thing to note is that this game is quite luck based. The games are so quick, though, it really doesn’t bother me. If you lose, you set up, start over, and play another game within five or ten minutes.
